Lang Scholars are “all-rounders” who embody the athletic and academic achievements and strength of character of a remarkable alumnus, Stu Lang ’70. Although there’s no financial award tied to this honours program, Lang Scholars receive access to unique enrichment opportunities, including leadership training conferences and guest speakers who will inspire them to become steady, confident leaders. In turn, they’re expected to contribute to College life through the mentorship of younger athletes and additional community service.
Introduced in 2013, this program is also the College’s way of honouring Lang, whose $11-million donation to ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø is one of the largest single donations in Canadian independent school history. The Lang Scholar Program was designed to be equally game-changing. It is an opportunity to recognize student achievement and to continue to attract high-calibre students to ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and celebrate their demonstrated excellence.
The outstanding students chosen for the program clearly represent ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø values such as learning, service and community. The program mentors and inspires them as they strive to be their best selves. It’s ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø’s highest hope that our community of Lang Scholars will evolve as a force to lead, mentor, inspire, achieve, and maintain a vital link to the College after graduation.
Meet the Lang Scholars, both current student-athletes and , who are already making a difference in the world. Keep an eye on them. They’re going places.
